What is IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)?

Lumecca IPL is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. This is one of our great aesthetic services for significant improvements in the complexion, and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using a photo-thermolysis, which provides a photofacial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment. The treatment requires zero downtime and is especially effective for improving the appearance of the face, neck, chest, and hands.

The Intense Pulsed Light heats the dermis and pulls pigment (brown spots) to the surface of your skin. The spots will darken and appear look like fine coffee grounds. This pigment either absorbs into the body or flakes off in the days following the treatment.
Lumecca IPL Intense Pulsed Light treatments also stimulate the skin’s collagen filling in the space around your pores. Often clients ask about “enlarged pores.” Pores do not actually become larger. They only look larger due to collagen breaking down as we age. When collagen is stimulated the pores appear to shrink.
The number of treatments you’ll need will depend on your skin tone, amount of damage to be repaired and desired goal. Typically, clients need three to five treatments in our Ocala office.
